We’re a non-profit, non-governmental organization focused on non-formal education for children and young people.
We believe that learning doesn’t only happen in classrooms—some of the most valuable lessons come from real-life experiences, sharing, and exploring the world around us.
Since 2022, we've been part of the Erasmus+ program, which allows us to host international youth exchanges here in Kunštát and also join inspiring projects all across Europe.
Every project is a chance for growth, meaningful cultural exchange, and bringing new energy and ideas into the communities we live in.

After one year of being with us do you think it was a good match for you to come to our organization ?
I truly believe it, from the first contact via online to see if we were looking for the same thing I felt that connection with both, you and the project. An inexplicable feeling that pushed me without thinking for a moment to Kunštat. Once there, as I was discovering a little bit more of the projects and people every day, everything began to give context to that sensation. Now after completing the year, I feel a deep gratitude, inspiration and home, family and friendship feeling when I think of you.
How much time you volunteered and where within our organization?
I have completed a year of volunteering in the projects, Jelinek, the forest school, and in Družina, the afterschool, including the summer camps.
Can you tell me about an aspect of a volunteer experience that you´ve really enjoyed and a part that you wish had been different?
What I have enjoyed most is the opportunity to be part of the great family that has been created around the projects and Kunštat, participating in countless events, traditions, excursions and gatherings. I consider it essential to share the maximum moments with the local people to understand the concept and essence of the project and the Czech Republic.
I consider that everything has been perfect as it has happened, since I have learned from each and every one of the unexpected situations. Even so, if I had to choose something I would have done differently, it would be to try harder with the language, as I consider it a fundamental part of getting the most from the experience.
Tell us a bit about a time of your quarantine. What did you do alone in Kunstat?
With the luck of living in the forest, I spent the quarantine enjoying it, discovering new corners and visiting nearby villages accessible through it. On the other hand, I took the opportunity to continue learning online in different courses related to education and entrepreneurship and also experimenting and developing new talents and hobbies such as drawing.
You have travelled quite a lot during summer. Is there a place in Czech you would love to visit again? Except Kunstat:) of course.
I don't need to think about it much, I would certainly come back to CHKO Labské pískovce - Národní park České Švýcarsko, both, Czech and German sides.
Other highlights are Český Krumlov, Národní park Podyjí (Znojmo - Hardegg - Vranov nad Dyjí), Lednicko-valtický areál (Lednice and Míkulov area) and Moravský kras.
Can you tell us if you have learned something really useful for your life?
You have been a constant inspiration. Although it is true that I chose the project because I had in mind to create a similar project, I believe that any person, even if she or he does not intend to create something similar and has not even had knowledge of similar projects before, I faithfully believe that living and sharing in the project and with the people involved will at least make them reflect and ask different questions, which I consider the key to be a better version of ourselves.
My mind does not stop wondering, generating new ideas every second after this experience. I consider that the most valuable thing I have learned - since I have experienced it - among many other things, is that the world will be better if we heal our hearts, live from compassion, cooperation and selfless help, creating wonderful communities and networks of creative and caring people.
What have you started to like to eat here?
Raw vegetables as snacks and sweet food for lunch such as Ovocné Knedlíky - fruit dumplings and Ovocný koláč - Fruit Pastry. Also to appreciate the poppy seeds as much as to add them in any meal.
What are your plans for the future?
At the moment I try to sort out all the ideas I come back with. The forest school project has become something bigger. My idea is to create that network I was talking about in the other question, a community of people committed to the planet, which includes all species and respects everything it has to offer.
I believe that the way to address all the problems we face now is to share ideas and create new ways of living by connecting from our hearts, because no matter how much we change laws or systems, we act and behave from what we feel and think. So, working from there will be the way to influence everything that we are trying to address right now only rationally and each problem individually, when all are interrelated.

Na EVS jsem si přála vyjet, protože jsem nechtěla jít hned po střední škole na univerzitu, a také částečně protože nevím, co, nebo jestli vůbec chci studovat dál. Gymnázium bylo opravdu vyčerpávající a já jsem potřebovala přestávku. Přála jsem si poznat samu sebe, chtěla jsem zkusit žít sama, ale ve stabilním prostředí, kde budu dělat něco rozumného.
Nechtěla jsem pracovat v zemi, kterou už znám. Přála jsem si nové místo, abych se dozvěděla o jiných kulturách, abych se naučila nový jazyk, setkala se s různými lidmi, než jakými jsem obklopena doma.
Jelínek je dokonalý, protože je to * vegetariánská * lesní * mateřská škola a já jsem veganka a miluji děti. Navíc jsem zde sama, takže mám příležitost mít svůj vlastní byt (můžu se sprchovat, kdykoli chci a když se probudím příliš brzy, nikdo se nezlobí.
Také tohle je cesta, kde se musím naučit se o sebe postarat. Jsem mimo okruh lidí, se kterými jsem žila celý svůj život, dostala jsem se ze zajetých kolejí, na které jsem byla zvyklá.
Také mé cíle jsou zřeknutí se věcí (po materialistické a psychologické stránce), dokončit komiks, který jsem začala, číst knihy, které jsem si přivezla a najít nové, najít přátele po celém světě.

/Berlín – Německo/ 9/2017 – 7/2018
Ahoj! Já jsem Franziska Mertin z Berlína a jsem nyní na EVS protože jsem chtěla jeden rok žít úplně jinak. Proto jsem přijela do Kunštátu a budu pracovat jako dobrovolnice ve vaší lesní školce. Jsem zvědavá, že se dozvím něco o pedagogice v lesních školkách a myslím si, že získám mnoho skvělých zkušeností.Velmi ráda se učím jazyky a určitě se také chci naučit Česky. Nebude to jednoduché, ale myslím si, že děti budou těmi nejlepšími učiteli. Také chci cestovat a poznat tuto krásnou zemi a Českou kulturu. Opravdu se těším na hledání rozdílů mezi českou a německou kulturou, tradicemi a zvyky. Jsem šťastná, že jsem tu a myslím si, že to bude skvělý rok!

Ahoj, jsem Nicolai a jsem z Berlína. Po gymnáziu jsem šel studovat dopravní inženýrství. Brzy jsem ale zjistil, že mě studia nenaplňují. Několikrát jsem navštívil Franzisku v Kunštátě, kde se mi začalo líbit. Když jsem se dozvěděl, že ve školce hledají nového dobrovolníka, aby dokončil projekt, snažil jsem se udělat vše pro to, aby si vybrali mě. A to se povedlo. Je několik věcí, které bych se během svého pobytu v Kunštátě opravdu rád naučil. Samozřejmě bych se rád naučil česky. Od prvního dne se snažím česky mluvit s dětmi i dospělými. A jsem opravdu zvědavý, kolik toho budu umět říci a kolik budu rozumět až tady EVS skončím . Chci také získat zkušenosti v práci s dětmi. Nikdy jsem s nimi před tím nepracoval a nebyl jsem si jistý, jak to půjde. Přesto, moje první pocity byly skvělé. S dětmi v Jelínku je veselo a byl jsem schopný se na ně napojit hned od začátku i přes jazykovou bariéru. Věřím, že do prázdnin se toho ještě hodně naučím. Jinak, život v Kunštátě si chci prostě užít a už to také dělám. Lidé jsou tu příjemní a myslím si, že žít v České Republice je skvělá zkušenost, protože tím, že tu teď žiju se mohu naučit spoustu věcí.

Na EVS do České republiky jedu hlavně proto, zkusit něco zcela nového venku ze zóny komfortu. Ráda bych si zakusila každodenní život v nové zemi a prostředí , a dostala se tak blíže jiné kultuře. Doufám, že zažiji kulturní výměnu, kdy budu moci i já sdílet některé ze svých zkušeností a něco z mé kultury, a taky doufám, že se dozvím a naučím něco o kultuře české. Těším se, že potkám nové lidi a získám zcela jiné zkušenosti, než ty, které mám a znám a hlavně se těším, že zažiji Vaši překrásnou přírodu. Jsem velmi zvědavá na svůj pobyt a na všechny z Vás se těším.

Půl rok v Jelínkovi byl skvělý, protože jsem jej strávila na překrásném místě pro děti v lesích Kunštátu. Naučila jsem se hodně jak být s dětmi, které mluví jiným jazykem. Našli jsme si cestu, jak spolu mluvit třeba jenom pár slovy a převážně výrazy tváře. Také se mi líbil vztah dětí a pedagogů. Každodenní život byl plný tvoření, lásky a trpělivosti. Bylo to úžasné pozorovat a být součástí týmu. Jsem velmi šťastná a ráda za svůj čas EVS v Jelínkovi

Jelínek mi ukázal nejenom krásu a práci s dětmi, naučil mě českému jazyku a něco z české kultury, pomohl mi také nebát se o svou budoucnost a o to, co přijde dál. Nebylo to vždy jednoduché, stýskalo se mi po rodině, někdy hodně, ale nyní mi zase chybí Jelínek, děti, kolegové a přátelé a já vím, že pokaždé, když se opět potkáme budeme se mít stejně rádi a budeme si rozumět. Děkuji! Byl to báječný čas!
